Good evening... hope all is well with you.

Can you imagine keeping your food in one of these?

or keeping your bees in it?

Bees you wonder...well I have been told it is either

an OLD bee hive or hornbeam.

More have told me that it was a hornbeam than a bee keeper.

I love it either way...

they are getting rare..

hard to fine...

and are really a cool piece of history.

"A Simple Life"...(jill peterson)

did an article on them in the fall 2011

issue.

You can see where this one had an old leather band

around it at one time...possibly to hold it together??

It still has a small piece of it clinging on.

This is a neat piece also, great green paint still in some areas.

Have never seen one with "cubbies" as I call them

You can see where the flour sifter used to be.

This may just have to hang in MY kitchen...lol

Excuse the red tape, did not want it flying open

for the trip home from TN.

Looking forward to returning there in August..

see all you guys again!!!!

We are going at it pretty steady getting ready for our

next show

Gettysburg!!

So looking forward to that!

Been told it is a packed house...so if

you can attend I think it would be worth your time!!

A big Thank You to Jackie and all of

the wonderful friends that we now have in TN. for making

"The Gathering" a success.

We survived set-up..we only had one booth for this

show...never have had that small of a space before...

needed 2 (or more)...moved walls 3 times...poor Lee...

moved a green cupboard a bizillion times...poor Lee

tables were moved, taken down and re-set back up...poor Lee

...see a pattern here.

He was an angel!! Never complained, cussed or fussed!!!

Give him a round of something!!

O.K. here are only a few pics...google and I are

not friends right now!!

This last picture Lee went upstairs to take a picture...during

set-up...guess he needed a break!!

We also survived tornados..EVERYWHERE!!

They were all around us but the only thing that happened here

was that we lost power...but I needed to go to bed anyway...

al was good!!

we have made it to Knoxville

safely!! AND we even found the Wal-Mart...

well a girl CAN NOT wear brown shoes with black pants!!

I forgot mine and Mr. Lee was so kind to find the

nearest Wally World.

The boxes are what I was working on right before

we left this morning. Thought you might like a peak.

I will show you all of the pictures later in the weekend...

There are 80 primitive dealers at this show!!!!!!

I can't wait to shop!!!!!

~Coming To An End~

the weekend that is. We have had a fast and fun

weekend.

Date night was fun and I will show you what I

found...or what found me that is...

First is this EARLY 1800's Virginia

Butter Worker...it's in mint shape and I just love

the patina of the wood. I swear you can still

smell the butter on the paddle.

Next is the early 1800's bassinet.

I have some antique ticking that I will

be fashioning some make-do bedding.

The wood in this piece is awesome also.

Moving on is this great green chair.

I can see this on the buggy with grandmother

holding tight. This too is in great shape,

but I must say that it is a lot easier getting into it

then it is getting out of it!

And last we have this great make-do rocker.

I purchased this in NC this past Monday from

Nan Brook Farm...

I love her booth, some amazing things!

I had to have this rocker...something was talking to me!

Great Job!!!

The last few days have been a blur...

getting ready for Knoxville...

have gotten Cats and Carrots down to a fine art!! lol

My last carrots were a little overdone...I am calling those

"fresh dug". REAL DIRTY!!!!

Well friends, the buzzer is sounding so

I guess something in the kitchen is done, and

since I burned the bacon...yep to a black nasty crisp,

I better go check it.

This is not from the auction, but I forgot to show you

earlier. They would keep this under the bed and before

going to sleep would pull this out and kneel down.

This is the rocker Lee is working on.

Covering it in early quilt with the best browns...

quilt date 1890=1901.

And this wonderful churn. It's not new,

just been re-done.

And I just deleated the wonderful early hooked rugs.

I will show them to you another day.

Driving home was like playing dodge ball, except we

were dodging tree limbs and debris from the extreme

high winds. Lee did a fantastic job pulling that trailer...

I kept me eyes closed and my mouth shut!!

Well, it has ONLY taken me since 5 p.m. this afternoon

to upload these 2 pics...I had a couple more but

I got tired of waiting....

So, had "date night" Friday night...almost

did not happen...

a nap and dinner almost got in the way.

Small Things and a HAM

Hi friends!! It's been a while I know,

but I do not live a very exciting, glitzy life.

It's pretty much the same around here.

A few things to show ya, my boxes with the

old time paper tops,

the little baskets I call

"Seed Baskets".

I have hand sewn fabric onto them

and also sewn a "paper scent" packet to stick

in the top.

And you see the 'ham" in the picture, my worst and best

critic. "We" had just finished cleaning up the little

"droppings" all over the counter top. Yes sir

"A MOUSEEEEE".

Eli does not look worried though, he is to busy getting his

picture taken and before that he was laying out

in the sun with the dogs...

70 degrees here today.

EXCUSE me...but what happened to winter??

I really would like some cold and snow...

Yeh, yeh...go ahead and scream at me now!

But just a little snow would be nice.

Or even some cooler temps, I can't even where

my new sweaters from Christmas...

lord help me a sweater, a hot flash and temps above 50...

move outta my way cause SOMETHING will be coming off!!!

~Fresh From The Garden~

~~My Primitive Garden~~

These are my interpretation of

primitive carrots.

In my garden you do not have to all be alike,

different is good thing.

I am trying very hard to get ready for Spring in the shop...

which will be taking place after

Winter In The Valley.

I have bought a white feather tree which I

aged (not big on bright white)

and this will become my

"All Year Long Tree".

Hopefully the ideas that are in my head will come out

as planned... {yeh right}.

Will keep you posted on any progress, and if you

are in the area, stop by and see if progress is happening!!

The Tax Man Cometh...

But before he does, let me show you

some "stuff" we have made for our

upcoming shows.

I made my own paper for this...

thank you Lori for the advice!

The frame came from Donna...

so whatcha think?

For the grater (the tin Donna gave me)

we aged our wood...

Trial and many errors, we finally came up with

"The Recipe" and just like the Baldwin Sisters...

this too shall go to the grave with us so to speak.

Lee did this one.

Lee made this make-do rocker using a very old

painted rocker. Have had this quilt like forever, love

the colors and pattern.

And finally...

a round chalk board.

The wood is from an antique barrel.

I like different things and I think that this fits

"different"

So...now you know what we have been up to.

Lee had Date Night Friday Night...alone.

Poor thing...his date just did not want to go.

Well, it gave him a chance to "bond" with the boys.

Too cold for me, I stayed snuggled up on the sofa with my

Game Boy!!

O.K. friends...the tax man cometh is the title of this post...

and if I do not get my butt of this computer

we will have NOTHING ready for him!!

My first finish of the new year,

I will be taking this spinning wheel to the

Wynter In The Valley Show that is scheduled for Feb. 11

Please excuse my mess, I am still trying to get organized

in the home shop...just ONE of my hundred or so

New Year resolutions...of which I have broken ohhh

say about 98 of them so far...yep right on track as usual!!!

This last picture is the farm table that Mr. Lee has

cleaned up and sanded and sealed the top on.

Oh how I wish I could keep it...I have a thing for tables...

the only room with no large tables in it is the bedrooms...

Hummmm????

Just do not see that happening though!

It too will go to Fishersville.....maybe.

Cathy and I went to PA on Wednesday...saw snow and felt

some REALLY cold weather...it was 5 when we started

shopping!!!! Still had a blast though. You do not notice that quick

one day trip until the next day...so wanted to stay in bed all day.

I want to apologize for not being with you this week...

just dealing with "stupid", trifling, crazy people drive me over the edge

and I just have not felt real chipper....

But I am OVER it...

I have tossed them to the road so to speak!

We are so over it!!!

Date Day...

Yeh, I know what you are thinking...

dates are at night.

But we had Date Day an Sunday, we finally went to

an auction...one that had something that we liked!

Here are a few of our goodies...

a Virginia made spice box

a cute collection of measures, a fun old red bucket

and an old dough bowl

a nice old pie safe that someone added new tin to...

YUK!!!

But we are going to remove that and install rusty screen.

and my favorite piece is this little blue piece.

I can imagine it in the kitchen, pantry,

bathroom holding "stuff"..or anywhere. It is just the

right size!! Can't wait to get her cleaned up a bit.

I hope that everyone had a safe New Year and all went as planned.

I made it to see the ball drop...poor Lee fell

asleep. Such is life I guess. Nothing earth shattering happened because

we did not kiss at midnight, pretty much same old thing!!

We are finally COLD here today!!!!

But by Friday it will be back to 60 again...ugh!!!

receipts stuffed every where....

GONE!!!!

FINISHED...

for now anyway.

Sooooo, was Santa good to you this year?

Did you get all you asked for?

We had a very blessed and pretty quiet day.

Breakfast at my parents was wonderful!

I feel so blessed to have them,

and both in wonderful health.

Nieces, sisters and brother-in-laws,

Lee and Justin all sat down to a wonderful breakfast

prepared by Mom Virginia and my Dad.

Dinner was Justin, Lee and myself feasting on...

Ready?...

grilled hamburgers and macaroni and cheese.

Wonderful and EASY!!

And then it was cuddle with the blanket time,

like fools Lee and I stayed up till 2 a.m. watching

movies and it was an early rise this

morning.

NO not for shopping,

but to re-do the store...again!

Come And Get It!!!

Breakfast, dinner, lunch or brunch is now served.

The One and Only Breakfast Casserole is waiting

for Lee to eat.

Yep, his very own, personal one...he loves this stuff.

Sorry about the picture, I am not a fancy photographer!!

I thought that I would give you the recipe...if you do not have it.

Breakfast Casserole

2-3 slices of bread, cubed (I tear mine)

1 pound sausage, cooked and drained (hot/mild...your choice)

6 large eggs

2 cups milk

1/2 t. mustard

1/2 t. salt...to your taste

1/4 t. pepper...to your taste

8 ounces shredded sharp cheese...we LOVE cheese, so I use more

Grease (I use Pam) 9x12 pan. Cover bottom of pan with bread.

Sprinkle cooked sausage over top. Add (lots) cheese.

Beat eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper. Pour over sausage

mixture.

Cover with foil and place in frig. over night.

Preheat oven to 350, remove foil and bake 45 min.

Serve with english muffins.

I have added bacon, mushrooms, green and red pepper, onions

and it is really good also. Always start with the basic and just play with it.

This is good and a super easy breakfast...this way you can enjoy SANTA!!

Yep Target has elves that decorate and trim everything in the snap of

a finger....or so the commercials say...Come On

Ya know YOU want one!

I am so far behind...for those that know me you can ask

them...only ONE tree?...NO OUTSIDE lights?, NO COOKIES?

NO FUDGE?

NO white trash?

Who moved in....

SCROOGE...

actually I think even HE had more of a start

than I am managing to do this year.

The excuse...it's WARM! I have flowers that still have

blooms for pete sake.

Where is the cold, the hush in the air right before the snow,

the NEED for hot chocolate??? mittens...scarves

and ear muffs.

OHHHH NOOOO I moved to Florida and NO one told me!!!!

My Special Christmas...

It's that time of year...when all of the boxes and bows

and "special" treasures come out again.

When my son was small he would make some of the most beautiful ornaments in school...you know the wreaths of tissue paper, and angels with their picture as the face.

Then there was the stocking with a seedling tree and who could forget

the Santa face with the cotton ball beard!!

Those are special and wonderful memories to me.

Olde Lady Morgan wants to know what makes my Christmas special...

Well you see in a tattered and torn box with aging yellow tape are the

memories that I have of Christmas with my son.

When I am placing them on the tree I can still hear him laugh

and feel him beside me. I can hear him saying "Mom you have it upside down",

and his favorite..."do I have to go to bed NOW". and better yet...

"Just ONE more cookie, the last one broke".

The tree is decorated and a light shines brighter because

of Brett...

Rest In Peace My Child...

This is my NEW sign...

and what I asked Santa for this year for Christmas!!

I guess I was a good girl...huh?

I do like the "New" Millstone...my other sign was just to "busy"

for me...and a little kidsy...is there is such a word?

It was so good to see everyone this week...

WOW!! This was a hustle bustle week and so much fun and

festive.

I will be OPEN regular hours next week...however the week of

Christmas we will be

OPEN everyday...

yep Monday-Saturday until 7 p.m.and that does include

Christmas Eve.

I do so hope that you can get a chance to come by and

see us.

These are the trees that I made for the shows and shop.

I used Buffalo Snow to top the cans off...

speaking of Buffalo Snow,

have you all tried that for stuffing?

Run, do not walk to your nearest Big Lots for a bag!!

It is the best in my book...although I do not have a very big book...lol

I can only get it at this time of year and have only been able to find it

at our Big Lots...and I buy BAGS!!!!

It has NO slick feeling and when you place it in the beak

of a crow...it STAYS!!! It allows you to get a good heavy feeling

to your "creations".

Just thought I would pass this along.

The shop is OPEN regular hours for a while, it was so

good to see everyone today...thanks for swimming on over.

Lee and I have decided that the closer it gets to Christmas

we will be open everyday!!

The NEW sign is in and hopefully they (Justin & Lee)

will install it on Friday. Will show you when that project is complete.

Well folks I am going to head down to the home shop and see

what I can get into...I am thinking I probably clean up the

HUGE mess.

Glad To Be HOME........

But I sure do miss this!! We all had such a wonderful time,

You just can not beat spending time with family!

We shopped and ate wonderful food and shopped,

walked on the beach and did I mention that we shopped?!!

Now Lee and I are getting ready for Mrs. Donna's show!

WOO HOOO, we ALL know Donna really knows how to put

on a wonderful show. Thanks to everyone who called checking

to be sure we would be at the Christmas Show...

You bet your boots with bells on that we will be there!!

this show was perfect. The line of people waiting to get in

was awesome, they actually ran inside the building.

Getting To Know Me From A-Z

A- Age- 50...really close to 51 (we get personal REAL quick!!!)

B- Bed- I would love to say a nice feather tick but alas it is a queen size that I share
with Tinsley, Eli and Lee. I put Lee last cause actually Tinsley and Eli are so kind
to share THEIR bed with us.

C-Chore I Hate- well if you ask my house what that would be it would answer ALL of them.
But I guess it would be leaning over and cleaning that wonderful cool porcelain toilet

D-Dog- 2 Sassy, my Jack and Tinsley my cartoon character...and with the risk of being mauld I will mention the Cat...Eli

E-Essential to start my day- COFFEE very plain and simple

F-Favorite Color- is Autumn a color??? I do not know what crayola calls all these warm wonderful colors but they are MY favorite....and purple.

G-Gold or Silver- with the price of them...WHO CARES just give me some

I-Instrument I play- how about PLAYED do not laugh...the violin for a few years. First chair. Now I can play the sander and sewing machine like no ones business.

After searching through what seemed like a bizzillion

boxes I FINALLY found my camera....

in my car.

So we have a small snippet of our booth at the Sorghum Festival..

Lee and I made 6 trips to the van before all was said and done.

The Hillsville Experience...

Mornin' folks!!!

Last we talked I was headed to Hillsville, VA for the

annual Labor Day 4 day GIANT flea market....

O-M-G...

What a blast!!! I will be a regular there from now on.

There are roughly 5 huge fields and wall to wall vendors of

EVERYTHING!

This is the van all loaded for home...

I actually shopped the wheels of one of those metal shopping

carts and had to buy another.

This is the grain bin that I found and I LOVE it!

But I did not buy anything for the homeplace...it will go

to a show.

This is the coolest cabinet...it is

a beautiful Robin's Egg Blue

Kinda on the Folk Art side...

but look at the drawers...they are made from old

cheese boxes!!!

And the last pic is of the majority of

great items we found. What you can't see are the old

carriers, boxes, cutters and some misc. stuff that we still

need to go through.

Yep, the mister and I had a blast...

...I am getting ready for the fall shows and this is what I have done so far...

a scare crow head in an old store scale pan

2 BIG crows on pitch forks

smaller crow on an old funnel.

So...there you have it...now you can see all of my

"non sewing" abilities!!! I am not that great a sewer.

My crows are drawn up by Lee and I and I can not remember

the maker of the scare crow pattern.

My updates will be coming in the early evening...you would be amazed

at how much I can get done during the day by LEAVING the

computer at HOME!!!! and with the shows coming up I really

need to be working at work...imagine that?!!

Lee does not like the limelight nor does he

ever want to take the credit for what he does,

but heck...

I can not build this table

(yeah you have seen it but I took it out of my kitchen and put

it in the Keeping Room)

And just look at this pie safe...this is the "after" and I am sure that you will remember...

Seems like I was the only one that liked the color of that pie safe.

It is walnut and old and now sits in my foyer.

I feel truly blessed to have such a husband that really loves to do the

same things as I do.

When we get in the home shop together...

watch out!!!!

You just never know what will come out.

Soooo, I am "stuffed" out....

my nails are forever stained brown

and I truly think there is cinnamon in every nook and cranny

in my kitchen...and have you ever smelled burning

O.K. so it's not,

but LOOK! I have "A" pumpkin!

I hope that everyone is o.k. with the hurricane, I do not think

it was as bad as they thought, but for those that lived through it I

am sure it was truly bad enough!!

I wanted to show you pics of a pie safe that Lee just refinished and some of my

crows that I have finished up but for some dumb stupid reason

my computer program kept deleting the pictures, instead of rotating the pics it was deleting them...so instead you got the pumpkin...

Had date night this past Friday,

Not Normal.....but

In this house THIS is normal...

for under my pillow that is!!!

Eli and HIS toys...

under MY pillow.

Let me explain...

The time is 12:30 am and he wants to play

"mouse" and it really squeeks just like a mouse

under my pillow it goes.

He leaves

The time is 2:38

Eli wants to play "paper"

under my pillow the paper ball goes.

He leaves, but not before being rubbed on for what seems like forever.

The time is 4:34

Eli wants to play "cat"...but wait that really is MINE...

he must have gotten that out of a bowl full of old toys...

anyway by now you know the routine...

under my pillow it too goes,

and he is rubbed

and he leaves.

Now yo know why I have dark circles under my eyes and why I

feel it necessary to take a nap!

I hope everyone survived the earthquake yesterday!!

Lori and I had the "deer in the headlight" look I am sure!!

Barnes and Noble will never be viewed the same again!!

Date Night Update...

I LOVE date night!!!

We had a blast last night...the auction house was packed...

guns for the boys...brings 'em in every time.

I am not much one for for guns and coins at the auction...

I like the "good" stuff!

to go to a couple yard sales this morning.

an early glove box for 4.00

daisy churn for 10.00

and some "stuff".

Now you have pretty much been caught up on my life.

Told ya we do not do a whole lot...

The "AFTER"...

Maybe one day I will be smart enough to remember to take

a "before" picture of something...

but alas it was not the other day.

This WAS a 6 foot 1950's forest green

double door pantry. The doors were the cheesy

plywood...

water damage was all around the bottom,

so I got to lookin' and thinkin' and this is what I

came up with, with Lee's masterful help....

Whatcha' think????

A great mustard and screen doors.

I have since put a burlap patch on the one of the doors.

Looks old to me.

It is now about 4 foot tall, maybe a little more.

We had so much fun doing this latest project.

Now it is back to the shop to do some much needed sewing!!

I just can't seem to get it done at the home shop...

MAYBE it's because for some strange reason

I can't find the sewing machine for all the #*@#

piled on top of the table....lol

I Am Not MIA....

the recent finds.

I am lovin' this green cabinet...

would look great in the upstairs foyer...

but hubby says

"It must go to a show"

look at the red paint still on the inside...

it is dark on the outside,

hanging on the side is an early braided mat...

so soft!!

and last we have this great old doll blanket...

but it was a little over ONE year ago

I Am Doing The Happy Dance....

...my results came this morning at 8:44...

I had to return their call cause I did not hear my cell phone ring...

I was shaking and had sweaty palms when I dialed the number

but to hear the words....

"NO CANCER"

was music to my ears.

I am so thankful for all of you and my family for the most

wonderful support system anyone could ask for.

I was so excited I forgot my camera...

Ya know Lori and I went shopping....

Had a blast!! Bought LOTS of goodies

and a table...that's another story all together!!!

I SURVIVED!!!!

Just a quick note to let you all know that I

am o.k. and did survive the biopsy this morning.

Actually, it was not bad at all,

I never felt a thing.

And the good news is that she thinks that it was

a cluster of small cells but we are checking just

to make sure.

To celebrate me being "good" for the doc, Lee took me shopping!

Nothing major...

I am saving that for my outing with Lori tomorrow...

yep we will be

On The Road Again!!!!

I will talk to you all on Wed. morning and show you the

treasures I find on our hunt!

A FINE JOB......

Lee has done it again!!

He brought this up to the shop yesterday...

Notice "his" fabric...

Yep...all by himself he picked that out

took it to the counter, had it measured...

AND THEN you would have thought that he

KNEW everything about sewing there was to know!!!

All kidding aside, his work is great.

I will not take any credit for this piece at all!

I am trying to play catch up today...some one has been wearing our

clothes cause I swear I do not know how 2 people can have so much

dang laundry!!

And do not get me started about the tumbleweed dust bunnies!!

Well my dear friends, I am off to go stir the meatballs and sauce that are cooking in the slow

cooker....smells wonderful!!

Simple dinner and relaxing afternoon.

Tomorrow is the day and I will keep you all posted!!

ps..that is an antique sewing cabinet that was found in a barn...all
original axcept 4 handles and material on top. This was brought home in pieces and Lee restored it

Not What I had Planned

Good morning friends...

this is not what I had planned for today.

I wanted to show you the awesome spool cabinet that Lee is

refinishing....but I forgot to bring the camera with me this morning..

DUUUHHHH....

But the last few days I have not been in my right mind...

Now I need YOUR help.

I need all the positive energy, prayers whatever it is that you do

sent this way please.

I go in on Monday morning for a breast biopsy.

I am trying with all my might to think that all will be o.k. and that this

"thing" in my body is just a complicated cyst,

but I will not know without it being tested.

I greatly appreciate all of your help.

Thanks to everyone who just loved Lee's table...

I feel like "Mama Walton" with that table in my kitchen.

Just An Old Door????

NOT!!! Lee turned this old meat house door into

a wonderful saw buck table. It is now in my kitchen.

Date night was Friday night...and aside from being about

200 degrees in the auction house, we had a good time.

One of the things that we did buy was this awesome crock.

Both of us love crocks...this will probably stay in the home.

I will show you the rest of the "goodies" at another time...

they are all at the shop.

Aside from putting the saw buck table together, today is pretty slow.

We did finally manage to get some rain which was nice.

Something about the rumbles of gentle thunder and hearing the rain makes it cozy

feeling inside, and Tinsley is wonderful to snuggle down with!

He and I were in the other bed...

SOMEBODY was snoring!!!!

I feel as if I am chasing my tail...not catching it

and getting further behind.

The old saying...

twelve steps back

seems to be coming true!!

I just feel lost...I want to work on some fall things

for all the upcoming shows but I swear when it's 100 degrees outside

it is SO hard to think of fall.

My Chiro. Doc is out of town at the beach....

I NEED him...my rib has popped back outa place

and it is beginning to really bother me.

THEN...I had my mammy 2 weeks ago...thought all was well

cause I mean it has been 2 weeks...

Gotta phone call today...all IS NOT well...

gotta go for some more tests...next week.

They just leave you hanging, don't they know

what that does to your nerves?

AND...the electric company STILL has me owing them

like $11,000.00. Can't someone out there figure

out what happened??????

Survived....

Yep, we all survived another family reunion. I will not bore you

with pictures of people that you do not know, but I will show you

Justin and Lee.

It rained Saturday and it was "COLD". Like sweatshirt cold.

Loved it!!!

By the time the family dinner rolled around the rain was gone

but the fire sure did feel good.

Now it is on to the home shop to get ready for the show this weekend!!

Lee and I are looking forward to seeing everyone...

Another Sneak Peak.....

This box is beautiful...when we bought it we were told

it was a plumbers box, well it was actually an old

country store slant front desk. Lee had to add a new slant top

which I think he did an excellent job...

But look what happens when you open it...

love that green OLD store cash drawer. This will be my

new cash drawer for the shows...until it is sold anyway.

Next is this BIG old dough bowl. She measures 21.5 inches across

and has the coolest wear notch on the side. This would look really good

in the middle of your table!!!

Next we have what makes my mouth water. Many of you know that

I LOVE big painted cupboards and this one fits the bill!

It is roughly 7 ft. tall and has wonderful paint colors coming through.

Yep...even some old blue. The main color is a buttercup, inside is green.

This is not the best picture but you get the idea.

Now you have seen a lot of our booth "stuff" for next weekend.

This is always one of the best shows...and of course the shopping

is wonderful!!!!

Don't know bout you but I am shopping for real estate in

the Artic!!!! I am DONE with this heat...and just think

this weekend is the family reunion...I am so glad I am not

tent camping!!! We do have a cabin with a/c. This will be

Justin's first reunion in 21 years. So we are kinda excited for everyone to

meet him again.

Getting Ready....

turned it into a cute bench with straw and fresh shavings

with the original yellow paint...love it!!

that Lee made...complete with a

I am closing the shop for a week...I would like to say

for a vacation but it's not really....

well if you call his Family Reunion and getting ready for

the show on the 23rd a vacation then I guess it is.

Yep, it's that time again...reunion..gosh a year goes by QUICK!

So with that being said my "vacation" will start on

Friday July 15th...

re-open on Wed. July 27th.

It's date night tonight but I am not sure what we are doing?

I can tell you that I am NOT cooking!!!

Hasn't He GROWN!!!

This is the same sweet LITTLE kitty we brought home

with us from Lori's last fall. Remember he was in a little bread crock??

He is a handsome fellow now.

He has a coat of almost glass...shiny and it seems like you can see your

reflection. He makes the BEST dust mop!!! Throw that piece of paper

under furniture and he will go get it...well it's the only way I can figure out how to clean up under some really low furniture!!!

He has his mouse...the one that is soaking wet!

Let me explain...flying up the steps onto the bed...staring!!

All of a sudden the most horrific M-E-O-W EVER...I am now sitting

straight up...you've heard of animals giving signs of all kinds of things so I am thinking the world is coming to an end. Prancing and nudging...no return to sleep.

O.K. Eli I am coming...what's up...racing down the stairs and into the den...there in

the bowl of water....HIS MOUSE. YUK, I shake it out and it will not shut up!

It's one of those activation things...so for the next 7 hours it squeaks...

CONSTANTLY!!

He carries it from room to room crying, will NOT let the dogs near it and tries

to bury it in his cat liter. I found it out on the front porch...Lee "accidentally"

kicked it out there so there so HE would not hear it anymore...poor

Eli sat at the front door meowing....

Today the mouse is dry...still works...

and Eli is a Happy Cat once more!!

Yep, if that is not an exciting life I do not know what is!!! LOL

I love what he added to plain old crocks!! I really would like to

keep the one with the bird, heck I do not care if it not the "real" thing...

this fits the purpose for me!!!!

The back of the big one has a crack and has been repaired but the

smaller canning crock is o.k.

Job WELL DONE honey!!!!

Soooo, whats going on? Anything earth shattering happening in

your corner of the world?? Mine is pretty much the same.

I see Vicky got to hold little Oliver for the first time...congrats!!!
