I Am Back...

***************
First I want to Thank everyone who called
and e-mailed us with thoughts and prayers after
the passing of Lee's Aunt.
We greatly appreciate your kindness.

This has been a crazy two weeks for sure....
but I am FINALLY getting the shop back in shape.

Millstone's Orchard Table and 2 Make-Do Chairs.
The chairs are actually from the 1700's

The greeting as you come in.
Love the box...it is actually a
counter top pie keep from MA.
Would love to have it on my desk for papers.

One of my pillows sitting on an old country store
coffee keep.

Needful goods as I call them...
boards, cotton, buckwheat hulls,
jackie berries and artichokes.

Well, there you have it. Some of the first room at Millstone...
hope you enjoyed your small visit.

Sooooo, how have you been???
I feel like we have not "talked" in like forever!!
Our life is still crazy...or maybe our life is normal...
just filled with crazy people....don't know.

Enjoy your evening...it is actually cooler here today!!!
But I am still waiting....and waiting....
for FALL!!!

A Little Sneak peak....

**********
At the new wrapping paper I have been working on.
This is a generous 83" long and is for small
size packages.

This is it all wrapped up...
complete with matching stained ribbon.

And this is number 2...
Birds of Happiness.
Ribbon has happiness and dream stamped on it.

Soooo...we finally got our power back on yesterday
about 4.
I have come to realize that I am to old to sleep
on the floor...
I am to old to "adapt"..
I am to old to rough it...
and I am too old
to spend 6 days in a small room with 2 dogs and a husband!!!
YES I HAVE EARNED MY WINGS!!!!
No one got hurt nor was there blood shed.

Have a great weekend and for golly gee sakes...
"COOL IT"

Heat Wave....

**********

O.K.
So I am tired of this already.
Yeh it was kinda fun on Saturday
night sleeping on the floor...
But this old body can not take that crap much longer!!!
Air mattresses are not all they are cracked up to be.

I want a real shower...
with hot water...heck at this point
I would settle for luke warm...
not to mention dry my hair...
All at the same address!!!
I shower (burrrrrr) at home...
wash and dry my hair at the shop.
OMG so NOT fun anymore.

However.....
Lee and I feel very Blessed to have what we do have...
and I know that AEP is working around the clock
to get us all back on grid.

Kudos to the line workers
and to all of the Quick Mart store employees who have to answer
that never ending question....
"Do you all have ice"?

Count your blessing daily cause when you stop and think about it....
we are truly very blessed.

The Storm...

Good afternoon...
as many know...
we had some wind come through on Friday night...
Lee and I fared well.
Our hearts go out to our neighbors.
Minor damage in our back yard.

The tops of these trees landed.....

Here.
See the small amount of roof peeking out?
This was across the street...
where my flags ended up.

Taken from my car...there WAS a huge beautiful old
tree right there...

It now lays here.

We had no tornado but instead they were
derecho winds. In some ways worse...
they have forceful winds and last much longer.
These lasted about 2-2.5 hours depending on where you were.
Our electric outage will last until probably Thursday or Friday
and of course there is NO ice to be had.
Lee bought another freezer yesterday and put it at the shop...
which has power. We were able to save a lot of our frozen foods but we still lost roughly
half, not to mention the stuff in the frig.
But we are thankful for our blessings,
that we are o.k. and our families are o.k.
We can deal with going back and forth from the home to the shop...
the pups do not have a clue...
they just enjoy the rides...
and Eli...well...
he is just glad to see us when we return to feed him.

Blessings my friends,
Robin
