My Special Christmas...

It's that time of year...when all of the boxes and bows
and "special" treasures come out again.
When my son was small he would make some of the most beautiful ornaments in school...you know the wreaths of tissue paper, and angels with their picture as the face.
Then there was the stocking with a seedling tree and who could forget
the Santa face with the cotton ball beard!!
Those are special and wonderful memories to me.
Olde Lady Morgan wants to know what makes my Christmas special...
Well you see in a tattered and torn box with aging yellow tape are the
memories that I have of Christmas with my son.
When I am placing them on the tree I can still hear him laugh
and feel him beside me.  I can hear him saying "Mom you have it upside down",
and his favorite..."do I have to go to bed NOW". and better yet...
"Just ONE more cookie, the last one broke".

The tree is decorated and a light shines brighter because
of Brett...
Rest In Peace My Child...

Your smile is with me always and your love is always in my heart.

Blessings to you all for a Merry Christmas Season.

Robin

  6. Oh Robin, wish I could just be there to give you a hug. Tonight I'm thinking that maybe Brett is Gannon's guardian angel, he got to come home yesterday. We don't know for how long, but at least he's home for now. Keep those precious ornaments close to your heart. Love ya my friend, Dawn

  7. Oh - Robin. You just zapped me into a reality and perspective I so needed to be zapped into. What an amazing and powerful post. Those treasured ornaments, those moments frozen in time, pull at my heartstrings anyway - and my son is here with me. I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like to open those boxes and have it any other way. You made me spill tears all over the place. Hugs & Best Blessings My Friend ~ Robin

  10. I'm so sorry for the loss of your son. I don't know how parents live through that. I have only one son and I couldn't fathom that. May you have peace and joy in the new year and always.
    Blessings,
